Alex Song to snub Chelsea move

According to SPORT, West Ham are close to securing a deal for the services of Barcelona’s Alex Song, who will snub both Chelsea and Manchester City for a move to Upton Park.

The Catalans have an asking price of €7m for the former Arsenal midfielder, whilst the Cameroon international is asking for €100m-a-week from his next employer, reports the Telegraph.

However, the asking price from Barcelona isn’t as strict, and they would let Song go for a little under their valuation.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham and Southampton have all been reported to be looking at Song, who was on loan at West Ham last campaign.

But, Song has stated his intentions to stay at Upton Park next season, but on a permanent deal.

Song signed a five-year-deal in Barcelona when he signed at the Nou Camp in 2012.

SPORT are also reporting that Song has chosen West Ham, because that’s where he feels wanted. He is seeking a club that can give him regular playing time, like West Ham did last season.

He is also admitted he is happy at the Hammers, following some difficult times at Barcelona.
