It’s been yet another day of ongoing transfer speculation for Chelsea. Here are the ins and outs of what’s been happening today.
Jose Mourinho is keen to sign Axel Witsel after telling John Obi Mikel he is free to leave the club this summer.
The midfielder, who currently plays for Zenit St Petersburg, is reportedly looking for a new challenge for next season after winning the Russian Premier League under former Chelsea boss, Andre Villas-Boas, last season.
And whilst the Belgian has also attracted attention from Serie A champions Juventus, it is rumoured the midfielders preferred destination would be London.
Mourinho and Witsel are both represented by the same agent, Jorge Mendes; boosting the chances of the Chelsea boss being able to strengthen his midfield this summer.
To the Falcao deal now, and the Colombian striker has revealed that he expects his future to be resolved soon, and a potential loan move to Chelsea could be on the cards.
Sky Sports had reported last week that a deal had been reached with Monaco for the Blues to sign Falcao on loan, however the striker did not clarify the reports.
Speaking after Colombia’s victory over Brazil in the Copa America, he said, “I am just thinking of the Copa America and the squad, my staff are taking care of this.”
When he was asked if the reports of a loan move were true, Falcao responded, “It can be, you will know soon.”
From rumours of people coming in or going out of the club, to Oscar; who is staying at Chelsea this summer according to Sky Sports.
The Brazilian had been linked with a move to Juventus, but Sky Sports have been told by sources close to the midfielder that there have been no talks between the two clubs, and that Oscar will be staying at the Chelsea.
The 23-year-old scored six goals in 28 Premier League appearances last season, but was left out of the Brazil squad for the Copa America to recover from injury.
It is Oscar’s first summer away from football for four years after he represented Brazil at the 2014 World Cup, 2013 Confederations Cup, 2012 Olympic Games and the U20 World Cup in 2011.
