According to The Express, French midfielder, Morgan Schneiderlin has announced he wants to leave the club. Schneiderlin was in the middle of a transfer battle last season after he was not granted an exit from St.Mary’s. After the club failed to make the Champions League this season, the midfielder has again spoken of his desire to leave the club.
Schneiderlin who is a target for Manchester United and Arsenal as well as Chelsea, has made it clear he wants to join a top four side. “If I leave Southampton it is for a club that plays better than the Europa League. There are ongoing discussions, but nothing is done. But of course the Champions League is my goal. If I leave Southampton it will be for a club in the Champions League.”
Chelsea are believed to be in the market for another midfielder to add competition for places ahead of their title defence next season. With Mourinho looking to play Fabregas further forward, could the Saints midfielder partner Nemanja Matic? Throughout the season, Schneiderlin has put in a number of impressive performances and looks set to have warranted a big money move. Would you like to see him at Stamford Bridge?
