It has been reported this evening that Chelsea are in talks with Fiorentina over the transfer of Juan Cuadrado. The Colombian has been linked with a move away from Serie A after he enjoyed a successful World Cup with Colombia.
Sky Sports have confirmed today that Chelsea are in talks with Italian club Fiorentina over the possible signing of Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado. The winger has a release clause of around £26.8 million. Chelsea failed with a bid in the region of £20 million earlier in the week and are expected to match the winger’s release clause.
Any possible deal for the twenty six year is thought to depending on whether or not Chelsea can offload either Mohamed Salah or Andre Schurrle. Both have been linked with moves to Roma and Wolfsburg respectively and looks set to leave Stamford Bridge on either permanent or loan deals.
Cuadrado has caught the eye of the top clubs around Europe after a some good performances in the World Cup. Since the tournament in Brazil, the winger has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid. Known for his flair and ability on the ball, Cuadrado also finished joint top on assists with Germany’s Toni Kroos. Cuadrado has racked up 21 goals in his 82 appearances since arriving at Fiorentina in 2012.
